Our History
The Arizona Simulation Network began as informal meetings of academic nurse educators to share ideas for simulation education. As interest grew, attendance included representation from academia, service and military simulation specialists. The first Board of Directors was elected in May, 2009, followed by the formalization of the organization with the unanimous acceptance of the bylaws on October 17, 2009. The Network grew to 52 members within the first 10 months.
Since that inaugural year, the Arizona Simulation Network has continued quarterly meetings throughout Arizona, offering a business meeting and educational presentations. June, 2010 introduced the first all-day annual conference, held at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center with over 60 in attendance locally and from out of state. Membership has continued to grow as representation of the Network includes over 25 academic and service settings from Yuma to Flagstaff.
